Description

Ultra-Drain Seal Standard Model is an essential tool for emergency response plans, stormwater management programs, and spill kits. Made from flexible, non-absorbing material with reinforced tear-resistant mesh, it quickly and effectively seals drains in emergencies.

Note: Not recommended for long-term outdoor use (over two hours) due to potential degradation from UV rays and high temperatures. For extended use, consider the Ultra-Drain Seal Plus.

Key Features:

  • Effective Sealing: Both sides seal most drains, eliminating the need to identify a top or bottom.
  • Chemical Resistance: Resists oil, water, and most aggressive chemicals; cleans easily with soap and water.
  • Durable Design: Mesh interior sandwiched between polyurethane layers enhances durability and flexibility.
  • Quick Response: Optional Ultra-Drain Seal Wall Mount Units enable a “grab and go” response to spills.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Can I leave an Ultra-Drain Seal on top of the drain for long periods of time? The Ultra-Drain Seal is made with urethane and will degrade/break down in extended UV exposure.  It is recommended that drain seals only be exposed for as long as required to contain and clean-up a spill.  Long-term outdoor use is not recommended.
  2. Can you drive over an Ultra-Drain Seal? It is not recommended that the Ultra-Drain Seal be driven over under any circumstances.  The softer nature of the material can be damaged under vehicle tires and other equipment.
  3. How do I clean the Ultra-Drain Seal Typically, a standard soap and water mixture is all that is needed to clean the Ultra-Drain Seal.  Once it has been cleaned it should be allowed to air dry and then returned to its original packaging.
  4. 4. Is the Ulra-Drain Seal reusable? Yes, the Ultra-Drain Seal is reusable provided that it has not been exposed to a chemical that has caused any degradation.
  5. Can I cut the Ultra-Drain Seal? The Ultra-Drain Seal has reinforced tear-resistant mesh “sandwiched” between layers of urethane, cutting it is NOT recommended as it may cause the unit to delaminate.
  6. Are custom sizes and/or shapes available? Yes. Contact our Sales Team for more information
  7. What size Ultra-Drain Seal should I use? For best results, use an Ultra-Drain Seal that is at least 152 mm larger than the outside of the grate.
  8. What is the best way to store an Ultra-Drain Seal? The Ultra-Drain Seal should be stored in a cool, dry area in the box that it is shipped in. Optional hard-plastic carrying cases that can be wall mounted or truck mounted are also available.  It is important that the Ultra-Drain Seal does not touch itself because, over time, the touching areas will fuse together.  This can be prevented by using the cardboard tube and plastic sheeting each unit is shipped in.
  9. Your compatibility chart says ‘NR’ for the chemical that I’m using. What exactly does that mean? Chemical compatibility guides are based on a one-year immersion test. However, spill response products are not exposed to chemicals for such a long duration. Therefore, the Ultra-Drain Seal might still be effective against a chemical that’s labeled as ‘NR’. To determine efficacy, please contact our customer service team for a no-charge sample.
